Management Team

ShapeGrabber’s management team includes:

 

Pierre Aubrey, President and CEO

Pierre Aubrey joined ShapeGrabber in 2001, shortly after the company spun out of Vitana, a designer and manufacturer of digital imaging products, where he was Vice President of Product and Business Development. Initially responsible for sales activities at ShapeGrabber, Pierre is currently the company’s President and CEO, and manages Operations and Marketing.

Pierre began his career as a Research Associate at the Canada Center for Remote Sensing. He next joined Telesat, Canada’s national satellite operator, where he spent 10 years in various roles, including Spacecraft Reliability Engineer, Flight Dynamics Specialist and Project Manager.

Pierre holds Bachelors degrees in Physics and Physics-Mathematics from the University of Ottawa, as well as an MBA with a concentration on International Business from the University of Ottawa. He has also done graduate work in Physics at Stanford University and completed graduate courses in International Business from Université Supérieure de Commerce, Reims, and University of Canterbury Business School.

Pierre has received several awards for academic achievement, including the Governor General’s medal for highest overall average in a Bachelor’s degree program, and the NSERC centennial scholarship awarded to the top graduates in the country in scientific and engineering disciplines.

 

Marc Bisson, CFO

Marc Bisson founded ShapeGrabber in 2001, spinning the company off from Vitana, a designer and manufacturer of electronics products. Marc is responsible for developing and overseeing ShapeGrabber’s financial and operational structure and is an integral part of all senior management decisions.

Prior to founding ShapeGrabber, Marc co-founded Vitana in 1992 and was instrumental in the company’s transformation from an engineering services firm to a designer and manufacturer of leading-edge technology products.

Fluent in both official languages, Marc holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Finance from the University of Ottawa.

 

Richard Nasmith, Vice President Sales

Since 1996, Richard Nasmith’s senior management career has spanned sales, marketing and business development in hardware, software and service industries, as well as building and implementing global sales and marketing strategies. He is responsible for direct and channel sales at ShapeGrabber.

Prior to joining ShapeGrabber, Richard was Vice President Sales and Marketing at KOM Networks, where he was responsible for building a global sales and marketing organization, expanding partner and channel relationships, and rebranding the company. At Binnacle Solutions, he led sales, marketing and operations functions, increasing the company’s revenues well over 100%. At PCI Geomatics, he led the transformation of the company’s international sales organization and successfully grew sales, profitability and ROI on a yearly basis while increasing global sales distribution channels. At Harris Corporation, he set record sales levels within the Harris3M and Lanier Divisions.

Richard was selected to lead the Canadian Institute of Geomatics and the Geomatics Industry association of Canada as CEO. He has been a technology advisor to the Minister of Natural Resources Canada and has been an advisory board member for the Canadian Space Agency, Industry Canada and many public-private sector partnerships.

Richard received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Earth Sciences from Carleton University.

 

David O’Connor, Manager of Technical Services

David O’Connor joined ShapeGrabber (then a subsidiary of Vitana) in 2000 as an applications engineer, and has since been working directly with ShapeGrabber’s customers in various roles to help them implement ShapeGrabber products. He is responsible for the company’s support, training, and applications engineering teams.

David graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Carleton University. He has also received additional training in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Polyworks and Geomagic software.
