ShapeGrabber Becomes Independent Company

Company to Apply 3D Scanning Technology to Industrial Inspection Applications

Ottawa, Ontario - May 1, 2001 - Marc Bisson, President and CEO of ShapeGrabber Incorporated announced that the Company has become an independent entity and is no longer a subsidiary of the founding parent company, Vitana Corporation.

This decision to separate the two companies was taken with the approval of the Vitana Board of Directors. It reflects the fact that the two companies have successfully moved into completely different areas of technology and, as such, derive no real benefits from being related from a corporate perspective.

Mr. Joel Bisson, President and CEO of Vitana Corporation was optimistic about the future of ShapeGrabber's products, which he developed, "I continue to believe that there is a market for the leading edge scanning technology being developed by ShapeGrabber and I'm confident that with strong management direction and market focus the future for ShapeGrabber will be exciting".

In making his announcement, Marc Bisson indicated that "ShapeGrabber will continue to focus the majority of its efforts on the design and development of 3D Inspection Systems for Industrial Applications."
