Geomagic Qualify 12 introduces 3D PDF for quality inspection reports; Geomagic Studio 12 first to offer parametric exchange for top 5 MCAD packages
Geomagic Qualify 12 is the latest version of Geomagic's quality inspection software,
which is supported by all ShapeGrabber 3D scanners. The software delivers unparalleled ease of use
and powerful new features for improving results and saving time. Also new is Geomagic Studio 12,
the only reverse engineering software to directly integrate with all leading
3D mechanical CAD packages, including Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER, Siemens NX, and
SolidWorks.
Ease of use, groundbreaking reporting
Geomagic Qualify, well-known in the digital inspection market for its ease of use, has extended its advantages in that area. Geomagic Qualify 12 offers the familiar ribbon-style interface pioneered by Microsoft in Office 2007. This provides simple access to powerful Geomagic Qualify functionality for ShapeGrabber customers involved in tasks such as measuring complex-shaped parts, high-precision measurement, plastic parts analysis, and aerospace, military and medical applications.
Geomagic Qualify now supports Windows 7 and has been optimized to run up to 40 percent faster. A new start page provides fast and convenient access to files, frequently used tasks, and helpful resources such as a technical support knowledge base and sample data.
The most groundbreaking new feature in Geomagic Qualify is the ability to embed colorized and annotated 3D models directly in a PDF report. This enables a quality inspector, for example, to use the software to create a PDF report for a design engineer who can rotate the model inside the PDF, zoom to a highlighted area, or select a predefined view - all using only the free Adobe Reader application.
Other new features in Geomagic Qualify 12 include:
- Quick feature creation to speed up the creation of inspection plans
- New algorithms for aligning test models with reference models
- A WYSIWYG report template designer that makes simple customization easy, but has the power to support the most complex customization needs
Fastest path from points to CAD
For ShapeGrabber customers engaged in reverse engineering, Geomagic Studio 12 incorporates a new ribbon interface, Windows 7 support, speed optimizations, an easy start page integrated into Studio 12. New features in Geomagic Studio 12 include:
- Automatic surface and solid trimming via Parametric Exchange, enabling faster creation of full-fidelity, parametric models for direct exchange with leading CAD packages
- Enhanced Autosurface capabilities that reliably convert polygon meshes into high-quality, exact NURBS surfaces with one click
- More flexible workflows to support faster design iterations
- Fast intuitive hole filling and automatic "healing" of polygon meshes
Coming in late May
Geomagic Qualify and Studio 12 are scheduled for release in late May 2010. They will ship with both 32- and 64-bit editions on the CD, and support English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese.
